Default add sightseeing mode

GW is a beautiful game, not just technically but also artistically. There are many times that i stopped playing and just looking around. I do that a lot when i'm pveing and sometimes even pvping ><!

In my old guild we used to have something like a photograph competition where ppl travel around taking pic. But the mobs are truely annoying, they hit u, they try to kill u, and they make ur pic ugly..... I would like to have a sight seeing mode where there are no mobs and u can travel around freely and safely. I think this is a true compliment to the artists and designers for the wonderful environments that they created.

Yeah I like the scenory in guild wars but sightseeing mode should be only avalible to people who have explored the entire area other wise it would be easy to get the explorer title.

but yeah I suppose this *could* work but why not kill the mob then take a picture?

No. Sightseeing is a reward for being able to run/fight to nice places. It would ruin the experience of fighting hard through dozens of enemies, getting no decent drops, turning a corner and seeing a sunrise over a corn field with swaying trees, or similar nice sight.

Well, seeing as how the files and artwork are downloaded onto your computer, it's "technically" already possible. Somebody created a world explorer type thing for WoW, where you could just fly around and look at the terrain. I imagine creating the same type of application to explores the Guild Wars terrain would be possible.

However, it's nothing like actually exploring in game... There's a really great feeling you get when you make your way to a new area and have to work hard to get there. Exploring a world that is populated with creatures and NPCs that actually interact with you (whether friendly or not) makes you feel like your actually a part of this beautiful world... and that's a feeling I wouldn't want to give up.

If you have already cleared an area you could be prompted when you reenter the zone if you want the to respawn the mobs. If any character doesn't have the zone fully cleared you do not get this prompt.

That way you can just wander around and enjoy the scenery. If you want to fight for the drops you can have the zone respawned.

I think this should be added only for eliminating every mob in the zone, and not for fully hugging the walls for the exploration. That way you can return and have no mobs respawn and hug the walls at a later time.

Yes, I'm trying to get my Grandmaster Cartographer and having to reclear almost all of Tyria for the last 0.1 or 0.2 percent from each area is frustrating.

Oh well, back to clearing the world!

I could live with that arrangement, as long as you can't do any quests or do runs in the unspawned area. :P

Yea, that'll do it. When i'm doing quests, busy going to places i dont really have the mood to take pictures, and when i'm in the mood of taking pictures i dont really feel like killing mobs.

If i want to look around one area and take some pictures it might only take me 20-30 min, but it might become 2 hrs if i have to kill the mobs too, especially the mobs in factions are quite high lvl.
